Nurse Aide Continuing Education Schedule

The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) reviews and approves nurse aide training and competency evaluation programs such as the one offered by the Central Texas Council of Governments’ Area Agency on Aging (AAACT).  Nurse aides renewing their certification after September 1, 2013 must complete 24 hours of in-service education and that education must include training in geriatrics, and if applicable, the care of residents with dementia disorder, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Nurse Aide Continuing Education Calendar 2015-2016

The CTCOG Area Agency on Aging has released their schedule of classes available for continuing education for 2015-2016. Cost of the classes is $10 per hour. Registration and payment must be received by the Friday prior to each class. Payment must be made in cash or money order ONLY (money orders should be made payable to AAACT) and may be delivered in person. The CE certificate will be issued upon successful completion of each class.

Minimum registration is necessary for each class to be held.
