
The CTCOG Housing program assists in the expansion of housing opportunities for low-income families, the elderly, and disabled individuals in the region. Our staff is available to applicants, tenants, and landlords interested in the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program.

Important Updates as of Friday, April 24, 2020
Inspections will be self-certified by landlord and tenant and will be sent via email through DocuSign by the inspection department.
Loss of employment/income self-certifications are also available, please contact your counselor or call (254) 770-2300 to have a form mailed/emailed.

The CTCOG Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List is CLOSED.
CTCOG Housing Division will be accepting pre-applications to determine eligibility for Mainstream Vouchers as of March 1, 2021 at 8am.
Pre-applications will be used to create a list of parties interested in the Mainstream Voucher Program serving Texas – Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, Mills, Milam, San Saba, and Hamilton counties.
Pre-applications residing outside our region must live in CTCOG jurisdiction for one year.
To qualify for the Mainstream Voucher, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be non-elderly (between the ages of 18-61), AND
- Have an adult member with a verifiable disability, AND
- Is either experiencing homelessness OR in danger of experiencing homelessness.
What is Mainstream Voucher?
Mainstream vouchers assist non-elderly persons with disabilities. Aside from serving a special population, Mainstream vouchers are administered using the same rules as other housing choice vouchers. Funding and financial reporting for Mainstream vouchers is separate from the regular tenant-based voucher program.
Supporting Documentation
Supporting documentation is required for homelessness and disability preferences must be turned in within 10-business days of receipt of pre-application. You can email mainstream@ctcog.org, fax 254-770-2329, or mail your documentation.

How It Works
Applicants will need access to the internet, an up-to-date web browser, valid email address, and basic information about their household. Applicants will only be able to submit one application per household.
