
The CTCOG Housing program assists in the expansion of housing opportunities for low-income families, the elderly, and disabled individuals in the region. Our staff is available to applicants, tenants, and landlords interested in the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program.

**The Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List closed September 1, 2023**
Applicants must keep their contact information (mailing address and phone number) current with the office. If mail is returned to us, the applicant will be removed from the waiting list.

APPLICANTS: A purge letter was sent to all applicants on 7/31/25. Please see below and respond if you did not receive it in the mail. Click here to download letter.
We are currently updating/purging our waiting list. Please read through this letter in its entirety, sign, date, and return it to us by August 31, 2025.
- Failure to return this document by August 31, 2025, will result in the cancellation of your pre-application. You will have to reapply when the waiting list opens for future housing assistance.
- This letter also serves as notice that it is your responsibility to keep our office updated with your current address, phone number, and email. You must report any changes to your contact information in writing only. If mail is returned, your pre-application will be cancelled and you will removed from the waiting list.
- ALL PREFERENCES for EVERY ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED AS OF TODAY. Any information previously sent to us is now considered VOID. You must send updated preference verification documentation, regardless of when it was sent to us. All verification must be dated within the last 30 days. If you feel you qualify for a preference, please mark the preference below AND provide the verification documentation. Any preference without proper verification will NOT be awarded.

How It Works
Applicants will need access to the internet, an up-to-date web browser, valid email address, and basic information about their household. Applicants will only be able to submit one application per household.

Forms may be:

- emailed to intake@ctcog.org. The email MUST contain a PDF attachment only, or it will be rejected. Additionally, it must be legible, taken on a flat surface with adequate lighting.
Basic Application Process:
- Applicant fills out the pre-application to join the Waiting List (**This is currently closed)
- When we get to the applicant’s name on the Waiting List, we will send an Appointment Letter and Application in the mail via USPS. (Please make sure to keep your contact information current with us.)
- The applicant brings all the required documents to the appointment
- We process the application and determine approval or denial
- If approved, the applicant will receive a letter for a Voucher Briefing Appointment.
- At the Voucher Briefing Appointment, the applicant will learn about the program and details specific to the CTCOG Housing Division and receive the voucher.
- The applicant must find a unit that accepts Section 8 and return the required paperwork.
