Did you know 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year in the United States? Did you know that on average peace officers will encounter a dog in one of three residences to which they respond? This four-hour course covers the legal definition of a dangerous canine, Texas requirements for notifying the owner of the animal, where to find information about dangerous canines, and how to read a dog’s body language. The Canine Encounters course is designed to meet law enforcement officers’ educational requirements as established by legislature in HB 593.

LENGTH OF COURSE: 4 Hours (8 AM to 12 PM)
