This is the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) mandated New Supervisor (First-Line) Course #3737 course offered for all newly promoted supervisors.

Supervising the work of others requires skills in leadership, counseling, motivation, and communication to create an effective and positive work environment for subordinates. This course teaches the basics for making the transition from line officer to supervisor. Upon completion of the class, students will be able to set up and manage a counseling session and be able to recognize the major symptoms of burnout in their employees. Students will also be able to identify the basics of social skills and be able to function effectively by applying those skills in any type of setting either on or off duty.
