What Will Happen to Your Home When You Die?

What will happen to your home if you die without a will? If you have a will, can your family afford to wait for your estate to pass through the probate system?  What if it were possible for someone to inherit your home quickly if something were to happen to you?

Effective September 1, 2015, Texas joined the growing number of states that allow owners of real estate to transfer property to their heirs outside the probate process by creating a Texas Transfer on Death Deed.

The Area Agency on Aging of Central Texas along with their partner agency, the Aging & Disability Resource Center, is hosting a workshop which will provide valuable information on the requirements of an effective Transfer on Death Deed.

Transfer on Death DeedThe workshop, which is free to the public, will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Central Texas Council of Governments, 2180 North Main Street in Belton, Texas.
