Our 9-1-1 Public Education program offers free safety education presentations designed for students of all ages, teaching the essential role of 9-1-1 in emergencies. Safety Education Presentations

Cell Phone Sally

Cell Phone Sally

Cell Phone Sally is a 9-1-1 safety mascot and education program that teaches people how to use emergency services.  
  • What she teaches
    Cell Phone Sally teaches people how to call 9-1-1 in an emergency, including the difference between an emergency and a non-emergency, and how to describe situations to the call taker. She also teaches people to verify their phone number and identify landmarks to help emergency responders get to the right place. 
  • Who created her?
    The Public Educators of Texas and the Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications developed Cell Phone Sally. 
  • How she appears
    Cell Phone Sally visits schools and daycares, and sometimes parades. She’s also featured in a program in Plano, Texas that includes a video, speaker presentation, and 9-1-1 simulator.
