How to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. This class certifies a person for 3 years as a Mental Health First Aider through the National Council for Behavioral Health. This is an 8- hour course eligible for TCOLE credit.

Class taught by Sgt. Teresa Phelps, TCOLE hours will be reported by Bell County Sheriff’s Office.
