Sandra Russell has Tree Planted in Her Honor

Sandra Russell, Executive Assistant for Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, was honored as Belton Chamber of Commerce 2014 Citizen of the Year for her many years of service both as an Ambassador and for her work with the Leadership Belton Committee.  A tree has been planted in Harris Community Park in her honor.

During the Tree Dedication Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2015, Susan Kamas, Workforce Board Executive Director, said that Sandra is the face and the voice of Workforce, “Every day is sunshine when you have Sandra.”  Jerry Haisler, Workforce Center Director, stated that Sandra looks at every situation and will think of what she can do to help.  In response, Sandra replied that it is a “joy to work for a company where you are loved and respected.  It has also been a tremendous joy to serve the community.”

Also honored with trees in Harris Community Park were Stephanie O’Banion for her service as Belton Chamber President/CEO from 2002 to 2015 and Robert Jones as 2014 Beltonian of the Year.
