FREE TRAINING for Licensed Peace Officers – Focus on Reducing Impaired Driving Among Youth

The Focus on Reducing Impaired Driving Among Youth (FRIDAY) program is designed to provide law enforcement officers around the state with the tools they need to effectively recognize and prevent underage drinking and underage impaired driving.  The mission of the FRIDAY program is to increase the enforcement of laws related to underage drinking through increased law enforcement training and local coalition building.  This state-wide training program is funded through a grant received from the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).  FRIDAY consists of a comprehensive curriculum covering:

  • the Scope of the Problem,
  • the Alcoholic Beverage Code,
  • Counterfeit Identification,
  • Statutes and Information Related to Underage Drinking, and
  • Investigative Techniques and Preventative Measures.

Officers attending and successfully completing the course will receive 8 hours TCOLE credit.
